J.F. Blackstone’s mix of classic blues and indie-pop often reminds people of, as File Under has written, “A sound that recalls memories of Tony Joe White and J.J. Cale.”
He has appeared in Dutch national TV shows De Wereld Draait Door and De Beste Singer Songwriter, which got him noticed by a wider audience and led him to play opening shows for artists like Cock Robin, Chef’s Special and Eric Bibb.
His most recent single, ‘The Hague’, is an ode to his hometown, which has garnered attention and has been positively received by a multitude of local establishments including De Passage (where scenes for the accompanying music video were shot), Omroep West (who premiered the music video and regularly play the song on radio & tv), and the municipality of The Hague herself.
However, J.F. Blackstone isn’t tied to this city alone: he loves to spread his music through performing at festivals, tours like the free spirit he is and even brings his sense of freedom to your backyard or your living room when you ask for it.
